Mission Educate was created in 2013 and through this program, we have provide quality education, necessary school materials, uniforms and shoes to vulnerable youth in the rural village of Panauti, Nepal. We began with 21 children served in our program in 2013, and since 2014, around 50 students have recieved invaluable educational support every year.
As there is an overwhelming need for sponsorships for the limited spots available that this program supports, we have adopted the following criteria of accepting children. Children are selected from as early as 4 to 6 years of age in the surrounding villages and from various minority groups in the area. We give first priority to orphaned children and secondly, children of poor families with only a single parent. Next we consider children of families with both parents that have very desperate economic conditions. Children with parents temporarily displaced from work and children with high educational capacity, who otherwise would not be able to pay for education are also given opportunity to enter the program.
For less than a dollar a day, these children can be provided with crucial educational support propelling them into a more promising future . They receive high ranking academic guidance at the NAVA RATNA English Secondary School along with one on one educational support from teachers and extra curricular opportunities to further their learning and engage in artistic and team building activities.
